A Vision
Today all shimmered with a light
That I have never been able to explain
I have seen and felt it all my life
And always met it in silence
Though it tugs at my heartstrings
For I wanted so much to share it-
Some melancholy like twilight
Fills me with a beauty beyond thought,
That feels like the memory of sadness
As if all had ended or never begun.
Maybe I am the only person in the world
When this happens to me unexpectedly
And everyone else is part of some dream
Or is it that there never was anyone at all
Just the endless blue of the shining sky.
